ReplyDeleteHi Petrina, I just managed to speak to Aunty Tai, her number is still valid. However, I couldn't get to hire her as she has already taken up a booking for nov/dec. Her service fee is RM4400 for singleton and twins is RM7000.

There are not many companies out there that provide such a service and I am so grateful that this one does it really well

ReplyDeleteI have used a lady call Vivian which I got from this company MediGuide Mom. They basicly provide helpers for new mom during confinement.
I was very happy with Vivian as the charge was very reasonable at about 2.5k for 28 days and she provided really good advice to me. Mediguide mom was very helpful as well as they gave me a pack of information regarding food to eat, how to tc of baby and many other useful information. Up to now i get regular emails from them regarding parenting and all that info.
they were really hands on with the helpers they send. They call you regularly to check if you were ok with the lady and in case you are unhappy they will send u a replacement. Luckily for me I was very happy with Vivian especially with the amount i paid and the service i got.
With medigiude mom you have the option of part time helpers or full time.I was with a full time helper which is Vivian in the first month. Now that am off confinement I still get one of their lady to come part time from 8am to 4pm to help me out as I actually dont have enough space in my apartment for long stay over.
vivian she would prepare meals for me which we agreed on the meals before the start of the confinemet period so we agreed on set of meals for 28 days. usually mixtures of soup and veges.
the good thing i liked about mediguide mom was that they encouraged breastfeeding so when vivian came to me she was very supportive of breastfeeding and the company would actually call and ask if i was breast feeding and they were the days that i felt really frustrated and could not do it as every 2 hours my baby was hungry. but luckily vivian was patient with me and mediguide mom keeps sending me emails on importance of breastfeeding which i thought was encouraging.
As i was breast feeding Vivian would sleep with me and the baby. She would change my baby nappies, bath her, and baby massage every morning. she would wash my clothes and prepare my meals and snacks.
mediguide mom informed me that whenever i can i should hug and kiss my baby alot as that would make my baby recognise who the mom is. I guess its those small advices that I found very useful .
you can try calling mediguide mom 0102322785 and they will ask for basic information such as part time or full time, which area u live, etc. The good thing is they actually have options on ladies that you can choose and u r comfortable with.

ReplyDeletethe lady who took care of me her name is Sharon. I could not afford paying chinese aunties for rm 4000 so i took a philipino for 2.3k and i had my doubts initially whether this would be a good choice. But to my surprise Sharon was really good.
She knew all traditional chinese herbs, she made chinese tea, soft baby massage and i was extremeley happy with the meals and services she provided. I must say the training they get is really good
She was really caring to my baby and me and would bring food to the bed though i told her no need, i felt bad but she insisted for bed rest. Thankfully my confinement went smoothly and i did not have any problem during my confinement and now i use part time lady from mediguide also.
I was breastfeeding but for night i would pump milk to the bottle and Sharon would feed the baby as she wanted me to have a good sleep at night. She insisted on us 3 sleeping in the same room as i can be close to my baby even at night.
And yes i must agree that the breast feeding support from mediguide was really helpfull. I recommended them to few of my friends and so far no complains. I would suggest to try them out as i had a very good experience with them.

ReplyDeleteJermaine: when i went to mediguide mom office they gave me few profiles of chinese confinement ladies and philipinos. few of the philipinos such as Sharon was able to cook the confinement dishes. But mediguide mom was honest in saying ok this lady can cook and this lady cant cook, and this lady cooking is ok so i then had a few options n went with sharon.
with my first confinement i used a chinese lady, she was pretty decent but again the chinese ladies are pretty old so they wont do anything outside what is expected but with sharon even though she is philipino and fairly young she knew exactly what to do, what to cook, she was more energetic, more patient and understanding as well. She would also sometimes massage my legs whenever i feel its swallon and take care of my house.
But for me one of the problems i had with chinese confinement ladies is when my mom was in the house. The clash of 2 elderly ladies both with their own opinion on how to cook and handle things. With sharon i had none of that problem and understanding she would not argue back but just giver her opinon so i din have that problem which was a big thng for me.
Art of Tree: I think they are quite good in the sense they actualy called me to see if i was happy with my girl and if i needed anything. also the good thing for me is i wasnt afraid of CL taking deposits and running away or not turning up. With mediguide mom atleast i knew where their office was and if there is any problem with the lady i was always encouraged to ring them up. But more so i dont have to worry ladies not turning up as worst case they will refund my cash so more like a peace of mind for me. ....
I actualy saw their website but now its not there so no clue on that really... i guess u can just ring them up and see what they say...

ReplyDeleteI've just finished with my confinement month. I would like to give credit to my confinement lady. She actually wakes up early in the morning to do house chores, as well as cooking breakfast and she is already done with all the laundries once I am awake. She is beyond my expectations and I am especially most satisfied with her taking care of my precious baby. My newborn is mostly with her, and she volunteers to lend me a helping hand so that I am able to rest more. She satisfies my belly with her cooking skills. Her dishes were hearty and warm. It was rather delicious and the dishes she cooks are quite hard to find here in West Malaysia. She cooks different varieties of dishes to satisfy my boring pallet. She knows how to cook KA CANG MA and not to mention that her PORK VINEGAR dish is superb! Overall, I experienced an incredible confinement month thanks to her. Her bubbly and friendly personality kept me away from my dull and boring confinement month. I would like to recommend her to all of guys. Her services is by far the best , compared to my friend's experience with their confinement lady. Motherhood was tiring, but it is a bundle of joy. She only does services for those who's doing confinement themselves and she also does confinement catering services. If I recalled correctly, she told me once that she only does the confinement catering services around subang jaya area.
